    [size=45]Baghdad Provincial Council revealed the reason for generator owners not adhering to the ampere price, while confirming that the council has evidence of tampering with the electronic meters installed in the generators.[/size]
    [size=45]Baghdad Provincial Council member Alaa Al-Daraji said, “There is negligence and collusion by the directors of administrative units, whether a district director, a mukhtar or a mayor, which has caused generator owners to not adhere to the ampere price.” He added, “Some of these directors take an amount from generator owners and allow them to set the price they want, which is naturally in violation of the official price.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Daraji explained that “addressing this phenomenon must be done through a campaign of summonses and hosting of negligent district managers and mayors who are proven guilty of colluding with generator owners.” He stressed, “We have documented with evidence the existence of tampering with electronic meters, and this is also a violation.”[/size]
    [size=45]The violations committed by generator owners in Iraq continue, and they do not adhere to the pricing set by the government, despite the strict measures taken by the security forces to control prices, and all of this is at the expense of the Iraqi citizen.[/size]
    [size=45]For years, Iraq has been suffering from a severe shortage in the provision of electricity, as the hours of supply provided by the national grid do not exceed a few hours per day, which has prompted many citizens to resort to private generators as an alternative solution to meet their electricity needs.[/size]
