The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has begun to create a unified electronic window under the supervision of the Intelligence Service, to update the database of foreign workers in the country, flag violations, and impose financial fines directly on violators and deport them.
The ministry’s spokesman, Najm Al-Aqabi, said, “His ministry launched a campaign to monitor the size of foreign labor and the actual need for it in private sector institutions and companies, in parallel with employing local workers in accordance with the law and based on the database of job seekers registered on the electronic professions platform.”
He explained that “large numbers of unlicensed and illegal workers have been discovered, and legal measures have been taken against them and fines have been imposed on the entities and companies that leak and employ illegal foreign workers,” noting that “his ministry has set the age limit for work in the country at 21 to 40 years exclusively, with the exception of experts, consultants and technicians.”
Al-Aqabi revealed that “his ministry has begun taking steps to create a unified electronic window under the supervision of the National Intelligence Service, through which the database of foreign workers will be updated exclusively, violations will be noted, financial fines will be imposed directly on violators and their deportation will be carried out, in addition to coordination and cooperation with the Companies Registration Department at the Ministry of Commerce, in addition to forming joint committees to monitor violating recruitment companies and refer them to the judiciary.”
