Parliamentary Investment Committee member Diaa Al-Hindi said that there are many areas that were not included in the collection process, such as agricultural and informal areas, expecting that the collection will include 15 million citizens, according to the official Al-Sabah newspaper.

The MP explained that one of the proposed solutions to the electricity problem is to address the issue of slums and agricultural areas according to urban planning, to enable them to obtain electricity officially, stressing that activating electricity collection has become a necessity.

The member of the Investment Committee revealed that commercial areas will be the first categories to be included in the collection initially, so that the collection will be gradually applied in the rest of the areas in rotation after the success of the decision, stressing that the electricity sector in Iraq is a loser, as 20 trillion dinars are spent on it, while it only returns 2 trillion.

He pointed out that although electricity production is sufficient, the real problem lies in the transmission and distribution processes, which requires finding effective solutions to improve these aspects.
