The Ministry of Interior announced on Monday that the curfew during the population census days will begin at midnight on November 19-20, while specifying the parties exempted from the curfew.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, said during a press conference that "the curfew for the purpose of conducting the general population census includes all governorates of the country, including the Kurdistan Region."
He explained that "the curfew does not include air traffic and commercial exchange outlets," indicating that "the Supreme Security Committee has provided protection during the census days."
He noted that "the curfew begins at midnight on November 19-20, and the movement of vehicles between governorates and districts will be restricted except for humanitarian cases," indicating that "the procedure is to facilitate the movement of enumerators."
He added that "journalists who carry badges are authorized to move during the curfew, in addition to health personnel who have also been exempted by official authorization, along with traffic patrols, ambulances, embassies and diplomatic missions."
For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Police Affairs, Lieutenant General Adel Abbas, confirmed that "the population census came after the security successes achieved by the Ministry of Interior."

He continued, "Plans have been put in place to conduct this population census."
