Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed that the decision of war and peace is made by the state through its constitutional institutions, while pointing out that the interests of Iraq and the Iraqis are above all considerations.
Al-Sudani's media office stated in a statement that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, during his visit to Wasit Governorate, met with a group of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries throughout the governorate."
He stressed that “this visit is part of a series of his field visits to the governorates, to see the service reality, follow up on the progress of work in the projects being implemented, remove the obstacles facing them, as well as meet with officials and residents and identify their needs,” pointing to “the role of the tribes in supporting the state to carry out its duties, especially in this sensitive stage that the region is going through, which calls for solidarity among the people of the country to face the challenges.”
The Prime Minister reiterated “Iraq’s principled position of rejecting the barbaric aggression on Gaza and Lebanon, which was expressed in all international forums,” stressing that “the decision of war and peace is made by the state through its constitutional institutions, and anyone who deviates from that will face the state, which relies on the power of the constitution and the law in carrying out its duties and tasks,” stressing that “the interests of Iraq and Iraqis are above all considerations.”
Al-Sudani referred to the service projects carried out by the government in Wasit in various sectors, stressing that “the government has adopted, since its formation, working in parallel in Baghdad and the governorates. He also touched on the agricultural sector, and the government’s keenness to develop it with all other sectors, and emphasizing the importance of moving towards using modern technologies in agriculture and irrigation.”
