    Economy News - Baghdad
The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs announced, on Thursday, the graduation of more than 1,000 heads of households from the social assistance system after providing them with job opportunities in Diwaniyah.
A statement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, seen by "Al-Iqtisad News", stated that "Al-Asadi decided to stop the subsidies of about 1,008 heads of households covered by the social assistance system in Diwaniyah, after providing them with job opportunities in the governorate's departments."
He added that "this step comes within the framework of the Authority's policy aimed at graduating those capable of working from the social protection system after providing suitable job opportunities for them, as part of the steps to improve the economic conditions of the beneficiary families."
He added that "the Social Protection Authority works in coordination with ministries and other government agencies to provide job opportunities for registered families, which enhances self-reliance and contributes to achieving sustainable development for families emerging from the poverty cycle."
