Member of the United Anbar Alliance, Ahmed Al-Dulaimi, revealed today, Friday, that the operations of smuggling crude oil to Türkiye are managed by senior officials in the Kurdistan Regional Government.
The source said in a statement to / Al-Maalouma / agency that "senior officials close to Masoud Barzani are supervising the smuggling of Iraqi oil from the provinces of the region to Turkey via tank trucks designated for transporting oil derivatives and under the protection of the Peshmerga forces, which are responsible for protecting the trucks from the provinces of the region until they reach Turkey."
He added that "the regional government paved the way for the smuggling of Iraqi oil to Turkey in the absence of control over illegal border crossings," indicating that "the money from the smuggled oil to Turkey is deposited in huge amounts in banks run by the sons and relatives of Barzani in Erbil province, registered under fictitious names."
He added, "The smuggling of Iraqi oil to Türkiye has become active during the current period due to the facilities provided by the Kurdistan Regional Government to smugglers." End / 12A
