Iraq wants to recover smuggled ministers to Beirut and Amman funds

[ltr] (Independent) .. parliamentary Finance Committee announced the recovery of billion dollars of funds frozen in a number of countries, and added that the government is seeking to recover what was left.[/ltr]
[ltr] The Committee confirmed that the second legislative term will activate smuggled money and frozen file, and mechanisms recovered in coordination with the concerned authorities. A source in the Parliamentary Integrity Committee that "the Commission has a lot of evidence and documents that attest to the involvement of political figures in the previous government of smuggling billions of dollars abroad and those documents will be submitted to the competent courts to decide upon."[/ltr]
[ltr]He added that "the concerned authorities are now working to restore the funds are present in Lebanon is estimated at two billion dollars, were found in the basement, as well as the restoration of the funds in Oman."[/ltr]
[ltr] A member of the committee MP Haitham al-Jubouri: "Iraq has a huge frozen in a number of international banks and funds, the proceeds of operations was carried out by the former regime for many years," and stressed that "the committees formed to recover those funds." And «what has been recovered so far only billion was transferred to the state treasury."[/ltr]
