    Iranian consul in Basra province, said Mohammad Abadi specialist that the trade volume between Iran and Iraq Shalamcheh border port has reached the billion dollars over the past year.
    The Abadi in a press statement, said that "the Iranian authorities to ensure the security of Iranian traders in Basra," calling for "the Iranian private sector to realize the importance of trade with Iraq, that other countries do not have the opportunities possessed by Iran, but they have a more important role of the Iranian role in the Iraqi market, you must be aware of all the Iranians traders importance of the Iraqi market. " 
    He said the Iranian consul to "repeated requests for the people of Basra to tap Iranian goods," noting that "the population of the city is very interested in buying Iranian goods and take advantage of them and that they had submitted their applications over to us and due to the existence of this opportunity, we have to make more efforts to get a good share of the market Basra ". 
    He stressed that "Basra province is considered the most important Iraqi province economically because it is the only province that has limits freely with Iran as well as it provides 70 percent of the energy reserves in Iraq, making it are of great importance in trade and the international economy."
