    threatened the governor of Basra Majed Nasraoui , on Thursday, the foreign oil companies , preventing them from moving into Basra unless launches amounts ofsocial benefits for the current year amounting to $ 35 million, while carrying oil ministry responsibility for delaying the disbursement. , Said Nasraoui during a press conference held at the Office of the province and attended by Alsumaria News, said that "Basra isexposed to the delay and procrastination so as not to get on the social benefits that are simple compensate for the extensive damage left behind by oil projects , " noting that "social benefits amounting to $ 35 million, and the rate of five million dollars for each field, and foreign companies which holds the development of those fields delivered itthree months before the full lists of projects to be implemented with funding from theamounts of social benefits, but those companies did not announce the projects to beimplemented. 


    He pointed out the governor that "The oil ministry is responsible for the delay in thelaunch of the social benefits of being involved in pressing foreign companies contracting with them, and we demand the ministry not to disbursement of funds for these companies before you give Basra social benefits," adding that " the local government slowed the ministry of foreign oil companies to the very day next Wednesday, and otherwise will be our escalation procedures, because we will not allow disregard for the rights of the province. " The governor pointed out that" foreign oil companies may prevent it from movement within Basra after the deadline, as well as contracting with security companies , "explaining that" the local government has requests demonstrating near the oil installations, and will also agree to those requests. " It is noteworthy that Basra is the oil industry center in Iraq , and the most important oil cities in the world, owns about 59% of the reserves of Iraq 's oil, and has thelargest oil fields in Iraq, including Majnoon, Rumaila and West Qurna , and works in the province , many of the big foreign oil companies such as (Royal Dutch Shell) and (BP ) and (Lukoil), and through the province are exported most of Iraq 's oil amounts that depend the state budget on the revenue is almost entirely, in spite of therefore, the population of the province suffer from poor service and problems of unemployment and a severe housing crisis.
