{Baghdad: Euphrates News} MP for the Bloc citizen Furat al-Tamimi, Thursday, legislation to reduce the number of members of the provincial law in the next election cycle.
He said al - Tamimi told {Euphrates News} today , "We made a proposal thatincludes reducing the members of the provincial councils and the abolition of local councils in the province and district , " stressing that "popular demand and theessence of the reform and will arrive to the physical potential and will contribute tothe gravity of the authorities in the provinces and in line with the provisions of theConstitution."
"we found during the first reading of the proposed law , a big reaction from most of the members of the House of Representatives and we found a great reaction from the public, and we believe we will be able to enactment of this Act and reduce thenumber of members of the provincial councils in the next election cycle."
He continued , saying that "our estimates will confine board members provinces theminimum 15 seats and a maximum of 25 seats , "pointing out that" some views go towards the upper limit and a minimum so as not to remedy some of the provinces that their populations exceed the 3 million people , such as Basra and Baghdad, and therefore we believe that this law will be a significant rationalization of expenditure the salaries and benefits. "

and called on Parliament Speaker Salim al - Jubouri , the parliamentary legal committee, to submit a proposed law to reduce the number of provincial councils to be voted on within the Council, as well as the study of the legal dimension and find appropriate constitutional way out to reduce the number of members of the House ofRepresentatives and the possibility of voting on a resolution commensurate with thedirection and support of members of the Board reduction and willingness to vote on the recommendations to be submitted to the Committee.
She called citizen bloc earlier, the board of the presidency of the Council of House, to urge the relevant committees to expedite the creation of a draft amendment to thelaw for the second reading for the purpose of reading it and vote on it, as theparliamentary Committee on amending the constitution called for , to work on it for the purpose of reducing the number of members of the House of Representatives.
