Russian President Vladimir Putin ratified the intergovernmental agreement between Moscow and Tehran for the protection of mutual investments, a move designed to encourage investments between the two countries.
A statement posted on the official web portal disseminates information legislation and human rights, on Thursday "has to ratify the intergovernmental agreement between Russia and the Islamic Republic on the protection of mutual investments between the two countries."
Assumes agreement to protect investments from nationalization, expropriation or other similar measures, also it grants preferential conditions for investors between the two countries. It includes investment protection and compensation for the damage mechanisms.
The Islamic Republic is a promising market, as has the fourth largest oil reserves and the second largest reserves of natural gas, making it attractive for foreign investors, especially after the lifting of sanctions on Tehran, under an international agreement.
Russia has been granted, earlier this year, loans to Iran worth 2.2 billion euros to finance projects in infrastructure, with the participation of Russian companies.
This amount is part of the $ 5 billion to Russia, Iran would give it a government export loan and signed preliminary documents between Moscow and Tehran in this regard during the visit of Russian President, Vladimir Putin, to the Islamic Republic, in November 2015.
