MP Khudhari urges to cancel MP’s retirement pensions

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Hamid al-Khudhari of the Citizen Bloc pointed out that “The Citizen Bloc supports the initiative to cancel the retirement pensions of the Parliamentary members and the Provincial Councils as well as Advisors,” stressing the importance of “Issuing special laws to improve the financial situation of the retired employees.”
Khudhari stated to IraqiNews.com “The Citizen Bloc supports the idea of cancelling the retirement pensions paid for MPs, Presidential Bureaus, Advisors and members of Provincial Councils which cost the State Budget a lot and increases every four years when hundreds of MPs got retired.”
“The retirement pensions for these categories negatively affect the State Budget,” he added, stressing the importance of “Endorsing the Retirement law draft which is delayed at the Council of Ministers to improve the situation of the regular retired employees.”
