    Baghdad - Iraq Press - April 19: The Cabinet held its regular session, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 headed by Haider Abadi.
    During the meeting, votes were taken to approve the recommendations of the committee formed for the purpose of auditing and investigating the activities of the cooperative activity of the General Union for Cooperation and the extent of compliance with the provisions of the law.
    In addition, a vote was taken to exempt private and public companies from delaying fines, as all companies involved in the project were approved, whether they were implementing projects in the investment, operating or ongoing budget contracted according to the instructions of implementing the government contracts in force at the time of the Cabinet Decision No. 7 of 2016, Public and private sector companies of delay penalties resulting from non-payment of their dues.
    The Council voted on Iraq's report on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.
    The first draft amendment to the Civil Printing Law No. (5) of 1999 was also voted on and referred to the House of Representatives.
    It was also voted on the formation of the Supreme National Water Committee for the importance of the water issue of the country and the wealth it constitutes should be used at best to serve the country and the citizen.
    The wheat crop marketing plan of 2017 was adopted to support the agricultural sector in the country.
    The Council of Ministers discussed the project of desalination of drinking water in the province of Basra, where the presentations of companies advanced to speed up the implementation of the project was also set up a committee headed by the Prime Minister to develop the trends required to secure drinking water and desalination and secure transmission and distribution networks for the people of Basra.
    The Council voted to support the federal police.
    The return of refunds from farmers to the agricultural initiative lending fund was also voted on. Finished
