raised the General Company for the number of railway trains operating across the line (Baghdad - Basra) to four a day, part of its plan to cover the growing demand for travel on trains.
Director of the operating department in the company of the Ministry of Transport, student Jawad Kazem explained by a special statement made to «morning», that his company and the purpose of development of the transport sector, especially the railway lines in the country, has decided to increase the number of trains operating through the line (Baghdad - Basra) to four Instead of two during the day and within different time periods, indicating the increase in the number of trains to the demand of passengers wishing to travel through trains, being modern and punctuality as well as the full comfort in the vehicles equipped with air-conditioned service.
He pointed out that his company is working on establishing many internal railway lines and all governorates to reach a network of railways linking all parts of the country, in addition to its external lines along the 32 km line (Bosra - Shalamjah), which the Iranian side has pledged to build. Its implementation as one of the important strategic lines that will achieve a quantum leap in the economic reality of the company as well as increasing traffic between the two countries.
Kadhim explained that his company plans to convert it into a winner by converting the land belonging to it, which surrounds the tracks of the railway lines to investment projects, including a piece of land located near Al-Alawi garage will be converted into a residential complex and a hotel and a tourist hotel, which will contribute to high financial revenues for the company which will go 45 percent of them to the state treasury.
