Japan: North Korea's test trumps Hiroshima bomb 10 times
The explosion in North Korea's sixth nuclear test is estimated at 160 kilotons, more than ten times the strength of the 15-kilo Hiroshima bomb, the defense ministry said Wednesday.
"The force of the explosion was far greater than the previous nuclear tests conducted by North Korea, which constitutes a major threat," Japanese Defense Minister Atsunori Onodera told a news briefing.
Last week, North Korea tested a nuclear test and another hydrogen that caused an earthquake that was met with widespread international rejection. "
"The 15 countries in the Security Council condemned the North Korean experience because of its negative impact on the security and stability of the region in particular and the world in general."
