    Follow-up / Sky Press:

Doha condemned the statement issued by the Bahraini Ministry of Interior regarding the detention of 15 Bahraini boats carrying twenty sailors.

The Qatari interior described the Bahraini statement as a desperate attempt to create problems, she said.

A Qatari Interior Ministry source said the capture of fishing boats entering Qatari waters was not new. They were promised not to enter again, and if they did not comply with their promises, the sailors would be released within three days.

The source said that the security of the coasts and borders has repeatedly warned Bahraini fishermen to fish in Qatari waters and not to use harmful fishing methods, but without any response, stressing that Qatar is committed to international maritime conventions, charters and conventions and called on other parties to abide by them to ensure maritime safety.
