The Ministry of Communications is considering the application of the feature of telephone calls (smart phone) over the Internet via the optical cable network.
The ministry said in a statement on Thursday that the Department of Planning and Follow-up in the Ministry has started to hold technical meetings for the implementation of the feature of telephone calls (smart phone) over the Internet through the optical cable network for the service (IMS), which was established through the Japanese loan project (FTTH) and the number of (150) thousand lines in Baghdad spread across the Karkh and Rusafa. "
"The Ministry of Communications will be the sole control over the application through the advanced exchange (IMS) and under the supervision of its engineering and technical cadres specialized in this field, which means providing a secure network for government agencies."
