    The Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday it bombed "terrorist" sites in the Syrian province of Deir al-Zour with long-range bombers.
    In a statement, the ministry said that six long-range Tupolev 22 MZ bombers had set out from Russian territory and flew in Iranian and Iraqi airspace on their way to bombard terrorist sites in the town of Albuqmal in Deir al-Zour.
    According to the Kuwaiti news agency "KUNA", the operation resulted in the destruction of fortified sites and stores of weapons and ammunition.
    According to the statement, the Russian fighter "Sukhoi 30" was launched from the base "Humimim" Russian air in Syria to provide protection for the bombers in the performance of its mission.
    A submarine operating in the Russian naval forces stationed in the Mediterranean, on Tuesday, bombed targets belonging to a Kalibar missile propeller in Deir al-Zour as well.
