DAMASCUS ( Reuters) - Damascus accused the US-led coalition of bombing the Syrian army in the south-eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour early Thursday, while the Pentagon refused to confirm the news.

"Some of our military positions were attacked between al-Buqamal and al-Muhaimi at dawn today," SANA quoted a military source as saying
The source added that the bombing results were limited to material damage.

The Central Military Information Unit reported that coalition military aircraft targeted two Syrian army posts near the T2 power plant, which is located near the border withIraq , about 100 km west of the Euphrates River .

For his part, Pentagon spokesman Adrian Rankine Galway refused to confirm this news, pointing to the agency "Tass" Russian: "No information we have to support these reports."
