Parliamentary Finance: 2 billion dinars loss of Iraq per day

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraq's "financial" committee on Saturday blamed the Iraqi government for losing 50 percent of its oil output, noting that "Iraq loses about two billion Iraqi dinars a day."
"Iraq loses daily about two billion Iraqi dinars because of the mechanisms used to extract oil," said the deputy of the committee, Haitham al-Jubouri, in a statement to the Journal News.
"The mechanisms of oil extraction is old and has been brought to Iraq since the fifties of the last century and therefore Iraq is losing about one billion Iraqi dinars because of these mechanisms."
He pointed out that "the oil countries operate efficiently with a production rate to 98% except Iraq, which works 50% and the other 50 go without interest."
