On Thursday, the Security and Defense Committee described the reduction in armaments and equipment in the budget as "disappointing," noting that it would send a proposal to the government to increase the financial resources of the security forces to continue fighting terrorism.
"The government's reduction of the public mobilization budget, the counter-terrorism forces and the rest of the security forces, and the lack of additional funds for the purchase of weapons and the maintenance of equipment is disappointing," he said in a statement.
"The security forces are continuing their battle against Da'ash," he said, adding that "the security forces need additional funds to re-maintain their equipment and to continue fighting terrorism in the country."
"The committee will send a proposal to the government that includes increasing the financial resources of the security forces and adding amounts for arming and equipping, especially the popular mobilization forces, in appreciation of its role in fighting terrorism," he said.
