Israel accuses Iran of turning Syria into the world's largest military base

He stressed that Israel will do everything in its power to protect it, even though it does not stand by any side of the Syrian crisis.
The official also said Tehran supported Shi'ite militants in the region and increased its military spending to 22 percent of GDP in 2017, and 17 percent in 2014.
