US losses double on Wall Street

US stocks on Wall Street suffered heavy losses on Thursday, compounding major indexes including the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S & P 500.
The results mean the Dow Jones S & P 500 has now fallen more than 10 percent from a record high in January.
The Dow Jones industrial average lost more than 1,000 points for the second time this week, dropping 4.15 percent to 23,860.
The S & P 500 index shed 100.58 points, or 3.75 percent, to close at 2,581 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index lost 274.8 points, or 3.9 percent, to 6,777.1.

US stocks on Wall Street suffered heavy losses on Thursday, compounding major indexes including the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S & P 500.
The results mean the Dow Jones S & P 500 has now fallen more than 10 percent from a record high in January.
The Dow Jones industrial average lost more than 1,000 points for the second time this week, dropping 4.15 percent to 23,860.
