    The Ministry of Commerce denied on Monday reports that the ration card was canceled, calling it "rumors". 
    The ministry said in a statement received by "Economy News", it "continues processing the ration card items," noting that "the rumor that the abolition of the ration card threaten the food security of private interests." 
    The ministry confirmed that the government has formed high-level committees representing ministries and bodies with competence to reform the ration card system in a way that gives the citizen more flexibility and helps the poor and the poor. 
    The statement quoted Trade Minister Salman Jumaili as saying: "We continue to prepare the ration card items for 2018 and contracted to supply grain from the companies of the world is solid."
    According to the statement, the next week will witness the signing of contracts for the processing of sugar and edible oil from national originators, "pointing out that the contract was contracted with global sources to supply wheat in the amount of 150 thousand tons of Australian companies, Canadian and US. 
    The Ministry of Commerce announced earlier the contract with the American company ADM to supply 90 thousand tons of good rice for the ration card and according to contractual specifications of Iraq.
