Integrating intelligence and national security at the next government table and no solution to the anti-terrorism apparatus

A senior political source said on Wednesday that the next prime minister will have thorny security files through the dismantling and integration of Iraq's sensitive security services.

"The integration of the intelligence and national security apparatus into one apparatus is what the Iraqi political blocs are working on to force the next prime minister to work on it to be subordinate to and exclusively related to it," the source told al-Ghad Press. "The intelligence service must be excluded from the quota Sectarian and political in accordance with certain regulations. "

The source added that "the political blocs are also working to make the anti-terrorism apparatus independent in terms of armament and duties and the number of the body and the engagement of the commander-in-chief of the new armed forces exclusively to maintain the prestige of the state," denying at the same time, "the existence of political intention to force the next prime minister to resolve the counter-terrorism "He said.

The former House of Representatives has voted unanimously on the law of the Iraqi anti-terrorism apparatus.

The Iraqi National Intelligence Service is responsible for collecting information and assessing threats to national security and, on this basis, provides advice to the Iraqi government and intelligence support to the various armed forces.
