Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Thursday discussed with Japanese Ambassador to Iraq Fumio Iwai economic cooperation and enhancing the participation of the private sector.
"The Prime Minister received today the Japanese ambassador in Iraq on the occasion of the end of his duties, and was paid off and valued his role in enhancing relations between Baghdad and Tokyo," a statement from the office of Abadi said.
He added that during the meeting, they discussed the development of economic relations and the follow-up to the results of the recent visit of the Prime Minister to Japan, including economic cooperation programs and enhancing the participation of the private sector and Japanese companies in reconstruction projects and cooperation in the field of education and facilitating the entry procedures of Japanese companies to Iraq.
