    Ministry of Transport confirmed on Thursday that it has made positive steps to make Iraq eligible for entry into the global maritime audit lists, revealing its ratification of a record period and the exclusion of the accession to three major agreements. 


    The ministry said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, a copy of it, "In response to the comments of former Transport Minister Amer Abdul-Jabbar, which denied the positive steps achieved by the Ministry on the maritime track, the Ministry of Transport and under the guidance of the Minister of Transport Kazem Cup Alhamami important positive steps and exceptional make Iraq eligible To enter the checklists like other member states. "




    The statement added that "Iraq, in coordination with the International Maritime Organization to nominate its specialists to implement the requirements of the IMSAS audit system in Iraq, and those experts have already participated in the regional workshop on the audit system IMSAS, which is currently in Tunisia," noting that " Appointing liaison points with the International Maritime Organization and specialized cadres to maintain cooperation and coordination with the Organization. " 

    "The Ministry has ratified, in a record and exceptional period, the accession to three main conventions, the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, the International Convention for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea and the 1988 Protocol on the Convention on the Safety of Life at Sea SOLAS (1974). November of 2017 ".

    The statement added that "Amer Abdul-Jabbar focused his interests alone, without the former ministers to distort the image of the ministry that is supposed to be of help to them, but chose the path of slander, fabrication and disinformation of his own will."
