    Baghdad / ... Legal expert, Ali Al-Tamimi, confirmed on Saturday that Iraq is currently not eligible to enter the "Deal of the Century" line because it is without a government, as this government has expired.  

    Al-Tamimi told "Eye of Iraq News" that "Iraq has to distance itself from the so-called deal of the century because Iraq is currently not eligible to enter such major international events because it has no government as this government has expired and even the term of business has ended", indicating that "Iraq is in a special and exceptional situation and cannot enter into the politics of the interlocutors or others, and it needs to restore its internal situation, especially with 700 martyrs and more than 27,000 wounded."

    The legal expert said, "Iraq is a threatened and divided country and needs to unify its internal situation and focus on it without focusing on foreign policy, which he cannot give opinion with at present and needs to form a new parliament and government before that."

    The Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammad Ali al-Hakim discussed with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman al-Safadi last Thursday the effects of the "deal of the century" on the stability of the region and the importance of reducing tension in it.

    This came, during a phone call by al-Hakim with al-Safadi, according to a statement of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

    The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said that the two sides "discussed the latest developments of the current situation and what the United States announced with what is called the deal of the century, and its effects on the stability of the region, especially on Palestine and Jordan."

    The statement pointed out that "the two sides exchanged views on the importance of reducing tension in the region and preserving its security."

    On Tuesday evening, Trump announced, at a press conference in Washington, the outlines of the alleged deal, in the presence of the outgoing Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, while the Palestinian Authority, resistance factions, Turkey and several other countries rejected it.

    The 80-page plan includes the establishment of a "connected" Palestinian state in the form of an "archipelago" connected by bridges and tunnels without an airport or seaport, while making occupied Jerusalem the alleged unified capital of Israel. Finished 2
