Direct : The US government is seeking an extension of the deadlines imposed by a federal court on the reunification of immigrant parents with their children.
US Justice Department officials asked a court in the southern California state on Friday for more details on procedures for reuniting migrant families.
The Justice Department said that in some cases the government may need additional time to take the necessary measures, according to the agency "Reuters".
The US Secretary of Health announced yesterday that the reunification of migrant children has not happened so far.
The Ministry of Justice presented the papers explaining why the deadline for the "reunification" of families, set for July 10, was extended to children aged 5 and 26 to reintegrate the rest of the children.
The US president has issued an executive order to stop the policy of separating migrant children across the southern border of the United States from their families.
