Supporting animal production projects in Najaf
14/8/2018 5:33 am [rtl] Najaf / Hussein al-Kaabi announced the Directorate of Agriculture Najaf success of a number of animal production projects that got approval from the Directorate for its establishment. Najaf Jassim Jiyad, Director of Najaf Agriculture, told Al-Sabah that one of the most prominent projects is a chicken hatchery project in Najaf Island, noting that this project currently produces two million and 200 thousand chickens annually, which contributes to supporting local markets in the province. He pointed out that the Directorate cooperated with the project manager in marketing his production to contribute to its success. He pointed out that the other project is the Kufa Company for the production of table eggs, which currently produces 250 cartons of eggs a day, adding that the plan of this project is to reach production of 350 cartons per day During the next phase. He pointed out that the Department of Livestock Services in the Directorate carried out a large campaign to spray barns and animals in cooperation with the veterinary hospital in Kufa in order to prevent the insects carrying hemorrhagic fever disease. He said that the campaign, which was completed last July, included spraying 98 barn with 713 cows and 30 heads of buffaloes, 65 head of camels and 350 goats, while the number of sheep that were sprayed 3176 sheep heads, explaining that this campaign was in the area of Bo Nuaman The campaign included directives and instructions for educators on ways to prevent diseases, especially hemorrhagic fever.
