confirmed the Jordanian source familiar with , that the kingdom is keen to open the border with Syria after agreeing on certain arrangements on the mechanisms that should be adopted by both sides after the opening of the border. "There are serious efforts in Jordan to reach these arrangements, but it did not specify its nature and did not say when it could be reached," the Jordanian

daily al- Ghad quoted the source as saying . The source stressed that "Jordan is necessary to accelerate the political process in Syria on the basis of the priority to maintain the unity of Syrian territory and the unity of the Syrian people," pointing out that "any approach to the solution in Syria must take into account primarily what the Syrian people and what they want, Not what other parties want. "

The statement comes at a time when Jordan and Syria are preparing to open the border crossing between the two countries, which was closed after the outbreak of the Syrian crisis.

Daraa Governorate has completed all necessary arrangements at the Naseeb border crossing to receive the displaced families returning from Jordan to their villages and towns liberated by the Syrian army and its allies.

In late June, Jordanian clearance companies started to maintain their offices on the Jordanian side of the Nisib crossing in preparation for the return of work once an official decision was made to reopen it.

The Naseeb-Jaber crossing is located between the Syrian town of Naseeb in Daraa governorate and the Jordanian town of Jaber in Mafraq governorate, which is the busiest crossing point on the Syrian border. The number of trucks passing through the crossing before the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in 2011 reached 7 thousand trucks per day.

In early June, the Syrian army restored full control of the Nisib crossing, which opened in 1997.
