Discussing the maintenance of security and border control
17/9/2018 12:00 am [rtl] BAGHDAD / Al-Sabah: The Ministerial Council for National Security discussed during a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on ways to consolidate security and stability and control the Iraqi borders. A statement by the Prime Minister's Office received by Al-Sabah said that "Abadi chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security during which they discussed the maintenance of the security and stability situation, the control of the Iraqi border and the documentation of violations in the airspace and land" The statement also said that the meeting also discussed "the organization of duties and the basic functions of the Federal Police and arming them to enhance their complementary role with the Iraqi army forces, as well as to discuss the stability of the situation in the province of Basra and measures to protect citizens and private and public property." Four decisions were issued: 1. The Ministry of the Interior will review the organizational structure of the federal police teams. 2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall take measures to document the Turkish violations of the Iraqi airspace at the United Nations and return them to the National Security Council. 3 - the deployment of border guards along the Iraqi-Turkish border to protect the border and prevent any violations and provide the necessary numbers and supplies for this, 4 - approval of the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the security ministries of the Interior and the Interior Ministry and the authorization of the Minister of Interior authority to negotiate and sign.[/rtl] [rtl][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] [/rtl] |
