KUWAIT: Kuwait's Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations, Minister Plenipotentiary Nasser al-Hain, said on Saturday that the disclosure of the fate of 369 missing Kuwaitis to Iraq is a top priority for the Foreign Ministry.
Al-Hain told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the occasion of receiving Kuwait part of the Kuwaiti property and the National Archive from the Iraqi authorities that the foreign efforts are continuing to urge the Iraqi authorities to intensify efforts to determine the fate of Kuwaiti prisoners and missing persons.
He noted the keenness of Sabah al-Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Al-Jarallah, to renew these claims during bilateral meetings with the Iraqi side and urged them to make more efforts in this regard.
He explained that in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions on the return of property and the disclosure of the fate of Kuwaiti prisoners and missing persons, what will be handed over next Monday is part of what was found in Iraq property and archive, which is a collection of books and film materials as well as a painting and sword.
He pointed out that the Iraqi side has already handed over some of the property that was found, praising the cooperation of the Iraqi authorities in this regard.
