The Iraqi embassy in Doha said on Friday that a member of the delegation accompanying President Barham Salih during his visit to Qatar has lost a mobile phone has been recovered.
Local media had spoken of a "theft case of a telephone belonging to members of the delegation accompanying the President during his visit to the Qatari capital Doha."
"We categorically deny any inaccuracies in the news," the embassy said in a statement.
The statement said that "the confusion that occurred in those means and some of its followers, what happened was the driver of one of the cars accompanying the delegation on a mobile phone in the car and handed him to members of the Iraqi embassy."
"It turned out that a member of the delegation had forgotten his phone in the car and the embassy was sending the phone to Baghdad as soon as possible," the statement said.
