    (Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Iranian Embassy in Baghdad announced on Sunday the program of the visit of Foreign Minister Mohammed Jawad Zarif to Iraq and the date of arrival.
    The embassy said in a statement that "Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif will arrive in Baghdad today, accompanied by more than 30 political and economic figures," adding that "he will meet immediately after his arrival at 3 pm with Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim." 
    According to the embassy, ​​Zarif will meet Monday with Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Halboussi. At 3 pm tomorrow Zarif will participate in the economic symposium to be held at the Granada Hall in Mansur Melia Hotel, which will be shared between traders and investors. Iraqis and Iranians and headed by the Iraqi Minister of Trade, during which Zarif will deliver the speech of Iran. " 
    She also said that" Zarif will meet with President Barham Saleh tomorrow night. "
    The Iranian embassy said that Zarif "will go to Erbil tomorrow morning to meet with officials of the Kurdistan region as well as participate in the second economic symposium between Iranian and Kurdish merchants, and then go to Sulaymaniyah to meet the Kurdish leaders there." 
    "After visiting Kurdistan, he will go to the holy city of Karbala to attend the third economic symposium on Wednesday morning between Iranian and Iraqi investors from the central and southern Euphrates provinces and then go to Najaf and return to Iran next Thursday," he said. 
    Zarif's visit comes days after a visit by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Iraq. 
    "Zarif's visit is trying to absorb the American incitement aimed at isolating Iran regionally and emphasizing the strength of the joint relations that bind Baghdad to Tehran," Iranian sources said.
    The sources said that "Zarif will discuss four main issues in Baghdad, the financial exchanges, the agreement on mechanisms for these exchanges, the cancellation of entry visas for nationals of the two countries, and the mechanism to complete the railway linking the two countries through the Shalamjah - Basra, in addition to cooperation in the oil field."

    BAGHDAD (AFP) - Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrives in Baghdad on Sunday, a day after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visited Iraq.
    "Zarif's visit is trying to absorb the American incitement aimed at isolating Iran regionally and emphasizing the strength of the joint ties that bind Baghdad to Tehran," Iranian sources said.

    Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasimi said that Zarif would head a high-level political and economic delegation to Iraq, where he will hold a group of Iranian businessmen to participate in trade seminars in several Iraqi cities, notably Karbala and Sulaymaniyah.
    The Iraqi government has asked the US Treasury Department to put it on the list of countries that can deal with Iran in the purchase of electricity and natural gas in addition to refined oil against the backdrop of the economic embargo imposed by the United States on Iran. 
    Tehran believes that the cancellation of entry visas will deepen the economic and social ties between the two countries to serve the interests of the two friendly neighboring peoples, but the Iraqi government has not yet decided on this issue. 
    During his stay in Baghdad, the Iranian minister will also meet with his Iraqi counterpart Mohammad Ali al-Hakim, both President Barham Salih and Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi.
