Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Tuesday that Iraqis are behind making the world safer and more peaceful.

"The world today is safer and more peaceful, because of the great sacrifices made by the Iraqis in the elimination of an oppressive organization," Abdul Mahdi said at the weekly press conference.

He explained that "Iraq is concerned about developments in the battles in Syria, and clearing the last pocket of the organization is calling."

"All the military bases in Iraq are Iraqi, and there are no foreign rules."

On the recent strike of teachers in the central and southern provinces, Abdul Mahdi said that "the teachers' demands are legitimate and we will implement them."
