    The Kurdistan Islamic Group (KIA) said on Wednesday it was being denied representation in the presidencies of parliamentary committees in the provincial parliament.
    "Unfortunately, the Jemaah Islamiyah bloc did not get its share of representation as the chairpersons of the parliamentary committees, while the other constituents, who have few seats, were given a representation in the presidencies of the committees," a member of the Bloc told reporters.
    "The Kurdistan Islamic Group bloc will continue its work as an opposition," she said. "The majority vote is in parliament, so we can not influence parliament's decisions very much, but we will continue."
    For his part, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc, Omid Khoshnao, said in a press conference held today in parliament that the method of distributing the presidency of scientific committees and according to the system of Santlego, and the benefits of the parliamentary blocs, denying the existence of a political impact on this matter.
    He added that on Sunday of next week will be a meeting between the parliamentary blocs and on Monday will be the names of the chairmen of the committees to the presidency of the parliament to be voted in Tuesday's session.
    The Kurdistan Regional Parliament voted in a session held on Tuesday on 15 legislative committees and each committee comprising 11 members amid the province of the bloc of the new generation.
    The Democratic Party of Kurdistan and the Social Democratic Party have 69 representatives in the committees. The National Union has 30 representatives and the Movement for Change has 18 representatives, the new generation has 12 representatives, the Islamic Group 11 representatives, the Islamic Union 8 representatives, Turkmen 6 representatives and Christians 9 representatives and freedom only two representatives.
    The session of the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region yesterday was a mess by members of the new generation who objected to the mechanism of distribution of members of the parliamentary committees.
    Members of the new generation asked to name members of its bloc in the main committees, especially the Finance and Economic Committee.
    For his part, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hainam Hawrami, explained the distribution of committees and indicated that it was done according to the system of St. Lego 1.4 and with the consent of all the heads of parliamentary blocs.
    When the parliamentary secretary tries to read the members of the committees, the members of the new generation create chaos in the parliament to block the vote on the committees. Parliament speaker Fala Farid asks them to leave the meeting in accordance with the rules of procedure.
