    The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) on Friday praised the role of Iraq and its positive initiatives, stressing the importance of continued cooperation between 
    Iraq and the Organization.
    The [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] said in a statement received by Naeem News that the Iraqi ambassador in Austria, Bakr Fattah, met with the 
    Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, Mohammed Birkondo, and congratulated him on his re-election for another three years in this post.
    She added, "The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Organization, where Berkondo welcomed the initiative of the Ambassador of Iraq, and stressed the role of Iraq and its 
    positive initiatives for OPEC and its tasks, stressing his keenness to continue cooperation between Iraq and the Organization," noting that OPEC, especially as Iraq is a founding member of the Organization and an important member of it, and expressed the desire to work together and cooperate in order to achieve the objectives for which the Organization.
    He pointed out that "the parties agreed at the end of the meeting to continue to hold periodic meetings and discuss issues of common concern."
