The US embassy is commenting on the broadcast of an investigation that accused Iraqi religious institutions of corruption

[rtl]The US embassy in Baghdad confirmed on Sunday that the State Department does not have censorship authority over the content of Al-Hurra TV after strong objections expressed by Iraqi circles after the channel broadcast a program that accused Iraqi religious institutions of corruption.[/rtl]
[rtl]The embassy said in a statement that "Alhurra deals with transparency and impartiality, important issues in the region and US policies, with care to present all views on issues of concern to followers."[/rtl]
[rtl]The statement added that "the State Department and US embassies around the world do not have control over the content of programs in Al Hurra."[/rtl]
[rtl]"The Iraqi government has the right to respond and hold free to any report that it considers to be inaccurate or unprofessional, or contrary to US policies," she said.[/rtl]
