A minister in the government of Abdul Mahdi threatened to withhold confidence because of his membership in the Baath

[rtl]After accusations against ministers in the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, regarding their involvement in terrorism, corruption and belonging to the dissolved Baath Party, a religious authority in Najaf demanded proof of their innocence, while political parties threatened that the remaining ministries will not pass in parliament. Independent and competent personalities were not nominated, other than the names mentioned above.[/rtl]
[rtl]And circulated political circles and Iraqi media information about the high probability of a no confidence in the new Minister of Communications Naim Thajil al-Rubaie, because of his former membership of the dissolved Baath Party and covered by the law of accountability and justice, and called on Parliament Speaker Mohammed Halbousi to implement it.[/rtl]
[rtl]"The people had a glimmer of hope that the new government would be a national government that would provide him with security, services and a thriving economy, but today, after the announcement of the identities of its members, this hope has been lost," religious cleric Mohammed al-Yaqoubi said. The government has been accused of terrorism, corruption, falsification of certificates, membership of the dissolved Baath Party leadership and membership of foreign nationality.[/rtl]
[rtl]Yacoubi called on members of parliament, "especially those who voted to give confidence to those who are not eligible to take the initiative to withdraw the confidence of those charges against them," calling on the Prime Minister to "provide proof of the innocence of the ministers of what they were accused of."[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Yaqoubi pointed out that "Abdul-Mahdi had promised in the session of confidence to submit this later, citing the limited time that led him to apologize for providing clearance certificates to his ministry candidates from the departments in that miserable session."[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Yacoubi blamed the Negotiating Committee, which divided the ministerial quotas on the political blocs and dictated them to the Prime Minister, and those responsible for that committee, "to hand over the capabilities of Iraq and the Iraqis and their sanctities and put them in the hands of those who proved them." He suggested "an initiative to correct mistakes before the danger escalates and cannot be resolved."[/rtl]
