The President of the Republic Barham Saleh, on Tuesday, the need to amend the General Election Law because it represents an urgent national merit to build the state and reform its institutions and eliminate financial and administrative corruption to meet the aspirations and will of the people.
"Saleh received representatives of the United Nations, the Electoral Commission and a number of university professors, media professionals, activists, specialists and legal experts," the statement said, adding that this meeting, which takes place in extremely complex circumstances, is going through great challenges. With experts and specialists to listen to them through the national public opinion first before meeting with the political forces and blocs in this regard, and that listening to different visions helps in reaching logical amendments to the law serve the public interest of our people of all its components and be a starting point The political system.

The President stressed that "we have the courage to call for a national dialogue in which we address the imbalances in the system of government in our country and to achieve a free and dignified life for our people."
