Washington reveals Iran's "big" role in killing protesters in Iraq

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the demonstrations were sweeping more than 90 areas in Iran, pointing out that the reason is that the people "tired of seeing the rulers steal tens of millions of dollars."
"People are tired of seeing religious rulers steal tens of millions of dollars and put them in their pockets, money that could be used to secure resources for the Iranian people, so they said enough and demanded their basic rights."
Pompeo said that reports say about 700 people have been killed by security forces in Iran and thousands arrested, stressing that the US role in all of this is to "support freedom everywhere and create transparency that enables the world to see what is happening in Iran."
"The role of the United States is to stand up and say that what is happening is not true. These people are demanding basic rights. The Iranian leadership must change in a way that reflects the desire of the Iranian people."

He said that "the Iraqi prime minister resigned against the backdrop of the protests, after people demonstrated and demanded freedom, but the security forces killed dozens of them, and this is because of the Iranian influence largely."
