    On Thursday, the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) pledged that early elections would be held by completing its legislation and the tables attached to it.
    A statement of the Board of Commissioners has received / information /, a copy of it, that “conducting a fair electoral process in accordance with legal and international standards requires expediting the distinguished parliament to complete procedures for enacting the electoral law and the tables attached to it, which determine the electoral districts and the number of electoral seats for each constituency, and delineate the boundaries of the electoral constituency In a precise manner, at that time, the commission can suggest a date for holding the elections according to what is stated in the election law, bearing in mind that the date will be as soon as possible.
    The statement added that “The Board of Commissioners, and based on the Electoral Commission Law No. (31) of 2019, is working hard to create the technical and logistical measures necessary to conduct elections in accordance with international standards to protect the integrity and transparency of the elections, and as a first step, the Council has started to put in place the policies, regulations and mechanisms that regulate the work of the commission, Despite the accompanying challenges of this work, it was able to restructure its internal system and benefit from the expertise and functional capabilities of its employees at the technical, educational, electoral, and internal management levels.
    The commission continued, "The Commission does not neglect the important role of the electoral process partners in supporting the democratic climate, which requires serious work to reach a better level in educating and educating voters on the importance of participating in the elections to consolidate the principles of democracy, and it is hoped that they will contribute effectively to the success of the Iraqi parliament elections."
