[rtl]On Thursday, the US State Department called on the Iraqi government to hold accountable those responsible for the attacks on American and international companies in Baghdad.[/rtl]
[rtl]US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a press briefing, "These attacks harm Iraqis and Iraqi workers, as well as the capital being employed there, and therefore they are attacks on the Iraqi people."[/rtl]
[rtl]Miller added, "The Iraqi government must take appropriate measures to respond to these attacks and hold the people responsible for them accountable."[/rtl]
[rtl]It urged "the Iraqi government to conduct a comprehensive investigation, bring those responsible for the attacks to justice, and prevent any future attacks, noting that these actions weaken Iraq's ability to attract foreign investments."[/rtl]
[rtl]Several American restaurants and companies were attacked by groups carrying "sticks and batons" who got out of hidden cars, terrorized Baghdad families and destroyed places, as video clips published by the Operations Command showed.[/rtl]
