    [rtl]A delegation from the regional government and oil companies is scheduled to visit the capital, Baghdad, early next week, to discuss finding a mechanism to overcome all obstacles hindering the resumption of oil exports.[/rtl]
    [rtl]This decision was issued during a session held by the Kurdistan Region Council of Ministers, today, Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, and in the presence of Deputy Speaker Qubad Talabani. It discussed a number of important issues on its agenda, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Barzani began the session by addressing World Environment Day, stressing the importance of considering every day an occasion to protect the environment, and that we must do our best to establish a culture of environmental preservation.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The Prime Minister stressed the regional government’s commitment to protecting the environment, indicating that this responsibility falls on everyone, and that we must all preserve the Kurdistan Region’s environment and its beautiful, clean nature, as it belongs to the future, and protecting and developing it is a duty that falls on all of us.[/rtl]
    [rtl]In the first paragraph of the agenda, the Coordinator of International Recommendations, Dindar Zebari, presented the second annual report on the implementation of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s human rights plan for the period (2021-2025), after the Council of Ministers approved the plan in September 2021 and entered into implementation.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The report included detailed data and information explaining the measures taken by the ministries and relevant authorities in the Kurdistan Regional Government to protect human rights, freedom of opinion and expression, freedom of the press, combat violence against women, and protect the rights of all components. It also included a comprehensive assessment of the process of implementing the recommendations at the level of the three authorities: executive, legislative and judicial.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The report also included detailed information about the regional government’s efforts and steps to improve conditions of rehabilitation, reform, prisons, and combating narcotics, psychotropic substances, and human trafficking.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The Prime Minister of the Regional Government praised the efforts of the Office of International Recommendations in preparing this report, and stressed that the protection of human rights is at the heart of the priorities of the ninth ministerial formation, as the Regional Government places this issue at the top of its concerns, through the relevant ministries and agencies.[/rtl]
    [rtl]In light of this, the Council of Ministers directed the relevant ministries to continue their efforts in implementing the approved human rights plan, as part of the work program and plans of the ninth ministerial formation.[/rtl]
    [rtl]In the second paragraph of the meeting’s agenda, the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Bakurd Talabani, presented a report on the latest position of the federal government regarding receiving the wheat crop from the farmers of the Kurdistan Region, including the ministry’s recommendations and proposals in this regard.[/rtl]
    [rtl]The Council of Ministers praised the steps taken by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources to defend the rights and entitlements of the farmers and peasants of the Kurdistan Region. The Council also appreciated the recent efforts of the Prime Minister and his discussions with the Federal Prime Minister, as well as the meetings held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources in Baghdad with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the Council. In this context, a delegation from the regional government and oil companies is scheduled to visit Baghdad early next week at the invitation of the Federal Ministry of Oil, to discuss finding a mechanism to overcome all obstacles that hinder the resumption of oil exports, which unfortunately have caused billions of dollars in losses to the governments of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region since the suspension of the operation.
