    Washington renewed its call for Iraqi leaders, to expedite the formation of a new government after the failure of the Iraqi parliament to elect a president amid a chaos, warning that time is not in favor of Iraq.


    Said Assistant U.S. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harff "It was important convening of the new parliament, a ls as promised."


    She added that "it was a good thing, but we hope that Iraqi leaders are moving full speed required by the current situation."


    The Iraqi parliament met Tuesday for the first time since the elections in April, but despite calls for unity prevailed anger and chaos that session.


    The spokeswoman said that "the fate of Iraq is at stake now, and in front of the Iraqi leaders an important choice about the future of their country: Do you meet? You will form a government? Did you say we will fight this threat together?".


    She Harff "would have been better if they chose President of the Parliament today .. and it was better if they did so before July 8, but we also understand that this is a difficult process."


    She declined to hint that the message Foreign Minister John Kerry to Iraqi leaders during his visit to Baghdad and the Kurdistan region last week, did not receive the desired response.


    She said, "democracy can be chaotic sometimes," pointing out that the three parties promised during their conversations with Kerry's commitment to the democratic process, stressing, "We want to see actions now support those words."


    It is said that the opening session of the first parliamentary session third, experienced a breach in the quorum number of members present, after the withdrawal of MPs are united for reform and the Kurdistan Alliance,
