Baghdad / Al-Masala: Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi directed, on Monday, November 30, 2020, to send the 2021 budget to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers immediately for the purpose of checking it.

The spokesman for the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, Haider Majeed, said in a press statement followed by Al-Masalla that Al-Kazemi directed the Ministries of Finance and Planning to send the 2021 budget immediately to the Cabinet Secretariat.

He added that the Prime Minister directed the Ministries of Finance and Planning to send the budget for the purpose of auditing it by the legal department in order to allocate an extraordinary session to discuss it and refer it to the House of Representatives for approval as soon as possible.

Majeed indicated that the government and the House of Representatives are unanimous on the need to expedite the approval of the 2021 budget.

Earlier, the financial advisor to the Prime Minister, Dr. The appearance of Muhammad Saleh, that the budget will secure the salaries of employees and retirees, social care and some investment projects.

A member of the Finance Committee, Sherwan Mirza, confirmed that the Finance Committee is awaiting the arrival of the 2021 budget bill, which is expected to arrive in Parliament next week, according to government promises.

He added that the Finance Committee will work upon the project’s arrival to prepare a detailed study on the budget’s items, address the gaps in it, if any, and know the value of the financial deficit.
