An expert on political affairs commented, Saturday (April 3, 2021), that the third round of strategic dialogue between Iraq and the United States coincides, and between indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington regarding the Iranian nuclear program, which will take place this week.
The  head of the Political Thinking Center, Ihssan Al-Shammari, told  IQ NEWS , "The third round of the strategic dialogue between Baghdad and Washington, which will take place on the seventh of this month, is not linked to the imminent holding of negotiations between the United States and Iran on the Iranian nuclear program.
Al-Shammari added, "The strategic dialogue between Iraq and America has a peculiarity that lies in the nature of the relationship between the two parties and its legal status in accordance with the terms and chapters of the Strategic Framework Agreement, and the third round of it will be the first dialogue in the era of Joe Biden, and therefore what the Iraqi delegation will present will be a gateway to develop the Biden administration's approach to politics." Foreign Ministry towards Iraq and how to deal with it. "
And on the nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran, he believed that "the road is very long and is linked to American requirements, and there is no link between the date of these negotiations and the date of the strategic dialogue between Baghdad and Washington."
On April 7, the Iraqi and American governments will hold a third round of strategic dialogue, which began last year when Donald Trump was president of the United States, to determine the form of the relationship between the two parties.
Meanwhile, Geneva will host indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran over the Iranian nuclear file on April 6.
