Today, Monday, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Adel Al-Rikabi, identified the reasons for the increase in unemployment in Iraq.
"The reasons for the increase in unemployment in the country are the weakness of the private sector, the delay in investment projects and the influx of foreign labor, as well as other reasons," Al-Rikabi said in a statement to the National News Center.
He added, "The foreign workers in the two sites of Basmajah and Karbala Refinery amounted to about 29 thousand workers, by 11 thousand workers in Basmajah and 18 thousand in the Karbala refinery, until a period not exceeding months."
